Court Restrains Two Bauchi Lawmakers From Parading As State Assembly Leaders.

A Bauchi State High Court has granted an ex parte order restraining Kawuwa Damina and Tukur Ibrahim from parading themselves as Speaker and Deputy Speaker respectively.

The ex parte order by the court was granted after 13 members of the State Assembly went to seek a constitutional interpretation regarding the actions of the 18 members. 11 out of the 31 elected members sat as early as 7:00 am and elected Abubakar Suleiman of the All Progressives Congress , as the Speaker of the House.
