KUCHING: The Sarawak United People's Party (SUPP), one of the respondents in the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission's civil forfeiture suit, will let the law take its course in the matter.

SUPP said its bank account was previously frozen by MACC on June 26 last year to assist investigations by the anti-graft body."Our office bearers have throughout this period cooperated with the investigation.

"In respect of the civil forfeiture action announced by MACC today , SUPP will let the law take its course and hope closure is finally at hand," it said in a brief statement. SUPP was among 41 individuals and entities named as respondents by MACC in a civil forfeiture suit to recover RM270mil related to 1Malaysia Development Bhd .

The suit was filed at the Kuala Lumpur High Court on Wednesday under the Anti-Money Laundering, Anti-Terrorism Financing and Proceeds of Unlawful Activities Act 2001.
