STOCKHOLM - Sweden’s prosecution authority said on Thursday it would not appeal a court ruling rejecting a formal request that WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange be detained while an allegation of rape is investigated.

Assange, an Australian national, is currently serving a 50-week sentence in Britain for skipping bail after spending seven years holed up in the Ecuadorean embassy in London to avoid extradition to Sweden. He denies the rape accusation. “Work is now focused on assessing the evidence in the investigation through holding certain complementary interviews,” Deputy Director of Public Prosecution Eva-Marie Persson said in a statement.

The Swedish prosecutor is working against the clock after reopening the investigation earlier this year following Assange’s arrest in Britain.

Hero or villain. Julian could be both. Sweden should drop charges as Assange has been detained long enough, existed like a prisoner at the embassy. He will get a fair hearing here if potus has his way.

FreeAssange Assange is a world hero This is how the people in control of this world treat true heroes, and Assange's treatment is reflective of his effectiveness. They are pissed! Assange wins! Although he may never be free again MAGA2020 WalkAway WikiLeaks maga

Trump administration cannot weaken Obama-era safety rule for miners, court saysA federal court quashes the Trump admin.’s effort to relax a health and safety rule for miners, arguing that the changes would put miners at risk. Just proof Trump side with companies and has disregard for miners safety. Rules are developed to save lives. Can’t put a price on a father, son or uncle. Only thing Trump cares is the greenbacks. Duh! So far the lower courts are acting properly & saving the country from many of this illegitimate president's worst acts. The problem is that there are so many lawsuits pending while we all survive with actions like the one above. The donor-owned GOP congress doesn't care.
