Ireland has become the main regulator enforcing rules on how big tech companies collect and process user data under Europe's privacy law called GDPR.

Ireland will do whatever highest bidder wants - they drop tax rates to bribe big tech companies to dodge tax there & they've accepted massive EU handouts over the years. EU is currently onto them over enforcing privacy laws so they'll bow & do what they want.
