The Kogi State High Court, Koton-Karfe, on Tuesday ruled that the Executive and Legislature, jointly or unilaterally, cannot remove the state Chief Judge, Justice Nasir Ajanah without recourse to the National Judicial Council .
“By item 21 of the Third Schedule to the 1999 Constitution , the National Judicial Council is the body empowered to exercise disciplinary control over all Judicial Officers of Nigeria. The judicial officers had approached the court to challenge the powers of the defendants to remove them from office over refusal to be investigated by the state House of Assembly.
They sought declarations that the defendants were not vested with the power to remove the CJ or invite him to the floor of the house for purpose of investigation; that the constitution of the ad hoc committee by the House of Assembly on December 11, 2018 was unconstitutional, ultra vires and therefore, null, void and of no effect.
Buhari tryed it and no complain why not bellow allow him abeg. When cjn was remove by Buhari none of you complain
Oma_igala1 Where is Dino melaye, don't ever let that nonentity
MBuhari removed CJN...Y can't he? The Court must be joking.

Non sense. Did u guys tell buhari the same?
When desperately desire to remain in power at all cost with traitorous cooperation with enemies in the judiciary to destroy highest institutions! These are the repercussion that ll hurt them all.
Just like his father...
He wants to imitate his mentor.
Copying from his master
But Buhari has
Like father like son
But his mentor just did the same thing... Watcha talking about?
Why is he trying to remove the CJ? Kudos to the High court. May ur butter never finish his lordship
Desperados
Of course he have the power to do so, what do you expect when his mentor does same...this precedence will hurt the judiciary for a long time. We are watching.
Just what sane minds fear is happening. The executive at every level now has the precedence and our judiciary is no longer safe. We barely have 2 arms of government now because even the legislative arm has been pupetised by the executive arms. A big shame for Nigeria
This executive rascality must never be allowed to triumph in Nigeria. Kudos to the High court Judge!
😂 lol, Onnoghen style reloaded to be redeployed in my home state, Kogi!!
