A District Court Judge has said Salim Mehajer's bail review would likely make the record books after it returned to court again today.

Disgraced Sydney businessman Salim Mehajer may have a broken hand but the duration of his bail review is creating records, the District Court has heard.

The 32-year-old former Auburn deputy mayor is seeking variations to his bail conditions including permission to have one mobile phone and to use social media, in particular Instagram. The debate over the bail conditions has dragged over three weeks. Mehajer last week wound up back behind bars when his local court bail for traffic fraud offences was revoked after he contacted a witness. He was released a day later after telling a magistrate he'd been so confused by his many bail obligations he didn't realise he wasn't allowed to contact certain witnesses.

"We did have some difficulty contacting Mr Mehajer because he does not have a telephone," Ms Hawkins said.As a result, the pair needed time on Tuesday to put together and provide an affidavit from Mehajer.
