Hong Kong has vowed to push ahead with controversial changes to its extradition laws, which foreign governments have warned could threaten the territory's status as an international business hub. So what could it mean for foreigners?

When the former British colony was transferred to China in 1997, experts and government officials warned it would need a extradition deal with mainland China. Now officials are seizing on the recent case of Chan Tong-kai

Once charged, they believe the suspects may face unfair proceedings in a system where the vast majority of criminal trials end in conviction. The United States says it's gravely concerned about the proposed amendments. "We're also concerned that the amendments could damage Hong Kong's business environment and subject our citizens residing in or visiting Hong Kong to China's capricious judicial system."

What can I say. Australia has an extradition treaty with China. So far it hasn’t weakened our independence as far as I can see. It has only been used to extradite fugitive corrupt officials as far as I know. HK fears are unreasonable.

and the law in china is nothing like hk, australia or any other democractic countries

agree with CCP... or else... we drum out charges against you and lock you up

Chinese communism at work. Did those UK morons ever think China would honour the agreement when Hong Kong handed over? God help them. Bring in Trump !!

Don't break their laws, SIMPLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
