Outgoing Navotas Rep. Tobias Tiangco backed retired SC Associate Justice Arturo Brion’s call for the incoming 18th Congress to correct the injustice allegedly committed against the impeached chief justice.
Quezon City Rep. Winston Castelo said he will also lobby for the approval of a bill that will honor the memory of Corona. The late chief justice’s ouster was allegedly orchestrated by congressional allies of then President Benigno Aquino III. In retaliation to their objections, Tiangco was stripped of his post as chairman of the Committee on Metro Manila Development.
