PERAK Menteri Besar Ahmad Faizal Azumu’s statement that the Orang Asli blockade in Kg Tasek Cunex, Gerik could be demolished because it was illegal is misinformed and misleading, the Malaysian Bar said. “The Malaysian superior courts have already recognised the common law rights of Orang Asli to lands that they have historically and traditionally occupied, inhabited or used for generations, without the need for a formal executive order,” Bar president Abdul Fareed Abdul Gafoor said in a statement today.
