New Trump administration rule would weaken protections for transgender people in health care

By Washington Post Staff May 24 at 9:11 AM Under the Obama administration, the Department of Health and Human Services determined that rules against discrimination “on the basis of sex” applied to transgender

people. Today HHS proposed a new rule that protections against sex discrimination should apply to “the plain meaning of the term,” an interpretation civil rights groups say may be used to deny care to transgender patients.

Worked in healthcare as a nurse for 40 years in ER, ICU all areas and I NEVER once had a nurse working for me or a doctor or a resident hesitate to treat each and every person presenting. NEVER. Our mission is TO treat regardless of any damn thing.
