"The stats are one thing, but clearly members are feeling pressure on the ground as well," she said.
Mr Gatt said there were already a couple of hundred officers in the area, and the union was pushing for more resources to meet demands. "The Police Association did not stand in the way of this trial. Given the amount of public overdoses and deaths, we acknowledged that this was a serious health issue that needed to be addressed. Our members were often the first responders to overdoses," Mr Gatt said.
She said the association had valuable suggestions, and said recent commitments for more outreach teams and syringe clean-ups would make the difference.
You do know that the “stats” are falsified to suit whatever the government of the day want them to say. I know this for a fact.
I live in Richmond. Have not noticed an increase in crime at all.

As a resident of Richmond for 10 years, yes I see drug addicts. Do I think it's worse, no. I live about 2 blocks from the self injecting room, do I fear living in Richmond no way. It's a great suburb.
