Biden's stance comes after several other Democratic 2020 candidates endorsed codifying abortion rights into federal law.

Former Vice President Joe Biden on Tuesday threw his support behind Congress moving to protect abortion rights across America by “codifying Roe [v. Wade] through legislation” after a few other Democratic 2020 candidates vowed to execute the action if elected.

In a video uploaded to Twitter on Tuesday, Biden criticized the GOP-led states of Georgia, Alabama and Missouri for passing “extreme, extreme laws in order to prevent a woman on virtually any circumstance to be able to have an abortion.” South Bend, Indiana Mayor Pete Buttigieg hasn’t addressed the issue in detail. However, this week he noted that codifying Roe v. Wade should be “taken seriously.”
