The Texas House passed what's been nicknamed the 'Save Chick-fil-A' bill, which supporters say provides religious protections. But Democrats and critics argue that the legislation would allow discrimination against the state's LGBTQ community

Nicknamed the"Save Chick-fil-A" bill, Senate Bill 1978 was approved by the Republican-led Texas House in a 79-64 vote Tuesday. The measure initially passed the Senate in a 19-12 vote last week, and now returns to the chamber for final passage before heading to the governor's desk for approval. Republican Gov. Greg Abbott has indicated he will sign the bill into law.The measure, authored by Republican Sen.

"While I'm sure the intent of this bill is to protect individual freedoms, in reality it would provide a segue for individuals looking to circumvent the rules of the law in the name of religion," Johnson said."Private businesses could legally refuse service to families like mine based on the owners' religious belief."Democratic state Rep.

Not discrimination, they are entitled to their beliefs same as LGBTQ has theirs.

People just DONT eat there. Boycott the food chain!!

Why are my Christian Rights being taken away?

You really don’t need to eat there if you don’t want

Are they not a business? I run a small business and I want that black/white/asian/jewish/gay/straight/trans/alien money

Yep. That’s why we have red states and blue states. You don’t like Chick-Fil-A, move to Oregon or California. Good for Texas.

Guess the house was angry about San Antonio banning Chick-Fil-A from being served inside their airport.

Have to admit. When I'm on the way home Sunday and can't get 2 Chik-fil-A sandwich's... I start to HATE religion.

Texas, where protecting Jesus Chicken is more important than protecting kids from gun violence.

Gay people can eat chicken.

I have not bought anything from them nor will i eat their food. This goes back to them not serving a gay couple in one if their franchises. I do not like the way they were treated and there are too many fast food places with good chicken.

For the moment there are no Chick-fil-As in Canada and that's the way I like it.

There is no religious protection to discriminate. Your only protection is to worship at home free of government interference, unless that religion advocates taking away another's right to life, liberty & the pursuit of happiness. Then you don't even get that.

Just cover to justify discrimination! What ever happen to the separation of church and state?

It's Texas. That told you all you needed to know right there.

Later Chick dumb fil A. I won't miss you. BTW they make dope roasted chicken in Spain. ChickfilA
