MONTGOMERY, Ala. — Alabama's governor said Monday the new abortion ban she recently signed into law reflects the high value residents place on the"sanctity of life," adding she doesn't expect any fallout from the controversial measure on tourism or business recruitment.
The Republican governor was asked about the ban after a news conference Monday about the state tourism industry. The bill's passage drew calls on social media by some opponents to boycott the state in protest. On Sunday, hundreds of marchers took to the streets in Montgomery, Birmingham and Huntsville to protest the abortion ban that Ivey signed into law. Crowds chanted"my body, my choice!" and"vote them out!"
We don't need these racist peoples running nothing it ought to be a law when person or persons be come 62 years he or she ought to made to retire and let these young minds works to make things better you got a lot of old shit peoples trying run things like they done back then
Does Alabama also value the sanctity of marriage? Make divorce illegal! You won't, because you are hypocrites.
Bullshit!!
Screw you GOV.
It shows the ignorance and disrespect shown women. It shows that the sanctity of life excludes all females. It shows a woman not respecting herself.
'sanctimonious'
Old bag says what?!
Wake up lady, I ain't seen nothing yet
Bwaaa Haa says the gov of one of the dumbest states in the nation and one of the highest infant mortality rates...oh look watch the mortality rate climb.

My husband and I drove thru Alabama, last Friday, when heading home from Atlanta to St Louis. We decided, before we entered the state, we would not stop to eat or gas up. We would only go to the bathroom... and not flush!
ALA ruling shows ignorance & cruelty. Poor women will die from illegal ABs. Why don’t all states follow CO’s model?
Boy..is she ever going to be surprised then...
in her dreams if she was 20 her might of rethought it maybe.
So, Alabama, if a woman get's pregnant and she and her boyfriend/husband decide to get an abortion, and he takes her and pays for the abortion, what penalty does he face?
This is an evil woman 👩
Didn't she just put someone to death?
'Tourism' in Alabama? To do what? Watch trailer park trash mate with their sisters and daughters? No thanks.
...surprise! In few months...
MSNBC sends “dog whistle” anti-Alabama message
Not ‘expecting’ something doesn’t mean it won’t happen. ‘Welcome aboard this aircraft. We don’t expect any problems today.’ How many accidents ARE expected. That’s what makes them accidents.
openpodbaydoor_ New law mean more successful marriages , better quality of life
meanwhile...
It's amazing how psychopaths still can influence individuals life in all latitudes and justify themselves with the consensus and followers. History just repeats.
NorthBelle4 She’s doing it because she’s past her child-bearing age.
Tourism? Who the hell intentionally visits Alabama?
Just a horror show!! What primordial ooze.
Alabama's history of Sanctity of Life-The lynching of 300+slaves, Home of one of the Largest KKK groups, where they beat and jailed African American for non-violent march, Enforcement of Jim Crow laws. These are Alabamian's acts of 'sanctity of life' GREAT Tourism message.
So good and moral people should stop going to the Dr. for what ails them? I guess if people have a growth or disease, that is given to them by God, they should let it grow. I guess no one needs Drs. any more. Prayers for everyone. Gods will, right? WomensRightsAreHumanRights
Crazy motherfuckers. I'll drive them out of state. Arrest me. I wanted a mid-life career change...Abortion Procurement Advisor & Transport...or, APA. Look for my ads in backwards states.
Capital punishment is a legal penalty in the U.S. state of Alabama. Alabama has the highest per capita death penalty rate in the country.
Sanctity of all life except the mothers.
'Sanctity Of Life?' That's a joke, right? A state that executes nearly as many people as Texas? A state where domestic abuse victims are killed by their abusers more often than anywhere in America? A state with one of the highest infant/new mother mortality rates in the nation?
Backward state! I wouldn’t want to live there.
Cause, no one sane would go there anyway.
“Sanctity” - whenever politicians start using words like that, you know you got a big problem!
She would be wrong in all cases. Ban the state
Tell that to the poor with the environmental toxins they are subject... sewage in the yards.
I already cancelled my trip to Savannah.
Because a young women who just graduated from college and think of her future is going to dream living in Alabama where old men tell her what she can do with her body
BoycottAnythingAlabama
She’s delusional
Look at her. She’s way past child bearing age. So am I, but I firmly believe that no one has the right to take a sanctimonious stance regarding a woman’s right to choose what she does with her body.
grandma is not in touch with the younger electorate
God bless Alabama!
The black population has not changed from 12 to 14% since the ’70s. thanks to abortions, even though we have numerous options for prevention, almost 70% of all abortions are black babies. Stop think.
That is a boldface LIE!😡This new law is simply unconstitutional. The people of Alabama should be embarrassed by the ignorance of the 25 white males that pushed this bill to approval, as well as the FEMALE Governor who signed it into law!😖🤦🏻♂️
Stupid old sow. I couldn’t stand traveling to Alabama when I had to. Now I WONT go because there’s no need to deal with backward thinking states like Alabama.
If you believe in the sanctity of life, then do something about the refugee children dying in custody. Another one today.
Well then she is delusional and wrong.
jcmarbury I don't know about Tourism but I've already personally rejected Contract offers for the States of Alabama, Georgia, and Ohio. They can keep their money. I want nothing to do with these Draconian States. Nothing!!!!!!
Ladies - Get the Fuck out of Alabama!
She’s delusional!
As usual Alabama is numbingly stupid in their assertions that their economy won't suffer because of their unconstitutional law.
ALGovAffairs PrattvilleALgov It would appear that she's been eating out of the same bucket of paint chips the man child POTUS has been eating from. It will effect the money that the state takes in better get ready to say bye bye to the money from the movie industry.

I wouldn't buy bottled water in Alabama!
Nut case.
Is that why AL rates 49 one notch below MS in livability. Get a grip folks.
Just wait....just wait.....Ask North Carolina what happened with tourism over a transgender issue a few years ago!
She must be having a senior minute if she believes there will be no backlash.

People vacationed in Alabama?
So the next law will be one eliminating the death penalty because Alabamians so value life!
Boycott Alabama!

Insane.
Well she’s wrong about one thing because I damn sure won’t be visiting Alabama.
DevilWomen
She shouldn't expect any backlash on tourism because who the hell goes to Alabama for their vacation or leisure travel? Almost Nobody ...And now the number will be even fewer.
