Brexit deadlock sees longest session of Parliament since Civil War

A new parliamentary session is marked by a Queen's Speech, which sets out the government's agenda.

However, Brexit and the precarious grip on power of Theresa May's minority government has seen this session stretch over three different years. Michael Gove says Theresa May should be given the 'time, space and dignity to leave in a way that she believes is right'The prime minister's official spokesman said Mrs May and the government"decided upon an extended session in order to pass the legislation to deliver Brexit".Other notably long sessions include the 1688-89 Convention Parliament, which came after the Glorious Revolution and sat for 250 days.

The 1997-98 session saw 241 sitting days and involved the passing of legislation to set up the devolved institutions in Scotland and Wales. The longest session of the 19th century came in 1893-94 and was dominated by William Gladstone's attempts to deliver Home Rule for Ireland.

I say to the Britts, 'shit or get off the pot!'

They will soon be in the subsidised bars don’t worry

Keep the useless twats in there! Embarrassing 🙁

The last one or the expected one if we don’t leave ruddy sharpish .

Oh boohoo. 😪 They'll be getting 6 weeks paid holiday soon. Shame they couldn't put a few late shifts in over the last, say, 3 years. It's like watching rats on a sinking ship.

Yeah, imagine the over-time bill!

In the name of God, Go!

Sort it or the might be another civil war

The debate about how to sell remain to the country after the UK voted leave. Parliament has never and still has no intention of honoring the referendum that they promoted, debated and approved. Democracy? They laughing in the face of 17.4M voters.

If it's a WA 'deal' they're trying to fudge through, that's not Brexit. It's a Remain-in-all-but-name surrender treaty, that makes the UK into a slave colony. Brexit

This is ridiculous now . We all knows that nobody wants Brexit anymore . Time to cancel it and get back to normality 👍

Where’s guy fawkes when you need him🔥🔥

She does love breaking records !! 🙄 theresa_may Number10press

Another late session at the Chuckle Club 🥴

And what did they Achieve FUCK ALL 😬😬😬

WHAT PART OF WE WANT TO LEAVE NOW, WITHOUT A 'DEAL' DO THEY FIND HARD TO UNDERSTAND?

Which has achieved precisely nothing except creating the vacuum into which Nigel and his poison have sailed

You mean since the last civil war.. we are in one now

I haven't seen Parliament that full since they were debating their latest salary increase.

Idiots.
