The prosecution is seeking an order from the High Court to publish a notice under Section 61 of the Anti-Money Laundering, Anti-Terrorism Financing and Proceeds of Unlawful Activities Act 2001 to summon any third party who claims to have interest in the property to come before the court on the date specified in the notice, to show cause as to why the property should not be forfeited to the government.
Among the valuables seized on May 17, 2018 and June 11, 2018 were 52 branded handbags, 10 watches and cash in different denominations: RM537,000, £2,700, rupee Sri Lanka , old ringgit notes , £320,500, rupiah , US$100, hryvnies , €20, France , South African , Singapore dollar , Riyal , Philippines peso and new ringgit notes .
Wow. No charges in court regarding those items. All of a sudden you want to forfeit the ownership? Shouldnt you prove that 1mdb money was stolen to pay for those items, and let it be cross examined in court? Rule of law apa ni?
