PETALING JAYA: The United Nations will remove Malaysia as a signatory of the Rome Statute of the International Criminal Court (ICC).

This comes following Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad announcement on April 5 that Malaysia would not be ratifying the treaty.

The government had later issued a withdrawal letter to UN secretary-general, Antonio Guterres, on April 29 to inform the international body of Malaysia's withdrawal from ratifying the statute. In a statement, Wisma Putra said that Malaysia would be removed from the list after the UN completes the necessary procedure. However, in April, an upset Dr Mahathir said the government was"forced" to withdraw from it following confusions created by those with political interests. Its objective is to end impunity against perpetrators of the most serious crimes – genocide, war crimes, crimes against humanity and crimes of aggression.

Pls no more complaining & condemning the ill treatment & injustices of Palestine, Rohingya, Uighur etc since Msia indirectly condon with its withdrawals. Deafening with incitement on its own soil. drwanazizah n_izzah anwaribrahim chedetofficial SyedSaddiq MukhrizMahathir
