Falana: APC Govt Has Turned Nigeria to Banana Republic via thisdaylive

Gboyega Akinsanmi and Bayo Akinloye

At the public forum attended by a wide range of political leaders, diplomats and professionals, Falana lamented that the country’s senior public officers had substituted the rule of law for “the rule of the rulers,” thereby asking the Nigerian masses “to take their destiny in their own hands.” He, therefore, concluded that under the the Buhari administration, Nigeria had become a banana republic, saying the president’s human rights record “is worse than when Buhari was a military dictator.”

As if that is not enough, the human rights lawyer faulted the decision of the justice minister “to publicly defended the contemptuous acts of the federal government.” He equally lamented that those in charge of running the federation are working against the progress of the nation and Nigerians, noting that by deliberately ignoring the rule of law, the Buhari administration was promoting and perpetuating corruption.

“It thus seems that politicians and associates of those close to the seat of power in Abuja are protected, despite strong evidence of corruption and money laundering against them. Such abuse of the rule of law is subversive of law and order in a democratic society. “With the virtual take-over of the country by armed bandits, terrorists and kidnappers the president and all top public officers should be barred by Nigerians from embarking on foreign private or official visits to other countries until further notice.”

Nigeria has always been a Banana Republic.

Why didn't you joined the political class and correct the wrongs? Your only good in making noise , you don't contribute anything in Nigeria apart from noise making

We do not have a country anymore we have been invaded externally and internally

True or false

You have seen nothing yet and will learn bitterly from obj that no sensible person reinforces failure

Wallahi

This man speaks with both sides of his mouth. Gani will be ashamed

Igbayi la'ro

Sir, go and contest in Ilawe let us see what you can do!

This is the worst we have seen in decades! It is most unfortunate!

This is not serious and only looking for relevance. National security is above human rights that PMB said last year shld b tried in court by Falana instead of telling masses to take anything into their hands

Can you organize another occupy Nigeria?

I understand the stand on Falana. I also think this his new stand is a credit to all who saw what he is seeing now. In life it's pride for one not to acknowledge his wrong when u know it. Pride kills. Falana should be forgiven for being humble to accept he was wrong at first

... Thanks to the Ezekwesilis, the Utomis, the OBJs, and; yes the Falanas. Four years ago they blindsided the youths into buying into a scam called Change.

Senators get paid N36million/month almost as much if not more than politicians in UK USA and Canada get annually. Its not sustainable. MBuhari should review this NASS wages cut it in half to pay for the N30000/month. Not raise VAT

Efcc will soon start hunting you too; those of you who said Goodluck Jonathan was clueless. Oby ezekwesili has learnt her lesson the hard way

Hypocrite!!

Cc usmannorth in case you missed it

the man was thinking APC will make him governor of Ekiti after helping them to fight Jonathan. self centred SAN.

Ewoo!

We warned. They didn’t listen.

Oga wait till next level we will become more than a banana republic

Falana has been a strong supporter of APC government. Is he just seeing it now?

With his help. Useless idiot

Falana still dey talk

A little too late sir, why didn’t you speak before elections?

What good can come out of somebody that is sick and every right thining person know it. This a country where sick person lead the healthy people. Where illiterate lead the educated. Everything in naija is turned up side down bcos of greed for leadership. Blind ppl

I think Nigeria needs these mess to learn how to vote a competent leader and stop ethnicity and religion politics

Not only APC govt but Hausa leadership. Then organise the protest u did during GEJ. Shame on u

Good morning sir.

Hahaha! But you were one of the PROTAGONIST for this very government,it's candidates since 2015 election. Now you see the light

The World is fair; those who sow the wind, ll definitely reap the whirlwind.

The hailers are now wailing. We are taking census! Those whose sobbing is still in their closet will soon run mad in the street.

Oh, so this is the time you wake up to know that this what Nigeria looks like? Its too late to say it because a lot of damage has been done already. Some of likes turned your eyes looking the other way round and refuse to speak out when it was still fresh.

Double personality syndrome. Falana 1; issa Hailer when Bubu is in Naija. Falana 2; Issa Wailer when Bubu is on Ajala. Argue with Ancestor Solo if still in doubt.

Falana was one of those that brought this calamity upon us. Too late to cry when the head is off.

Ehh, ehh, I didn't hear u well.

Giving fulani men more power with our oil money. Too bad.

Is Nigeria a zoo?

Nice speech

Falana should keep quite. Hypocrite!

, ntoor! Most Nigerians are killed by sentiments that's why APC were voted in again. Nigeria Goodmorning!
