Heathrow campaigners lose challenge against third runway

Shirley Rodrigues, deputy London mayor for environment and energy, said:"In challenging the decision to expand Heathrow, Sadiq has stood up for Londoners who have serious concerns about the damaging impact it will have.

The case was brought against Transport Secretary Chris Grayling by local authorities and residents in London affected by the expansion and charities including Greenpeace, Friends Of The Earth and Plan B. Outlining the case on behalf of campaigners, Nigel Pleming QC had said the plans could see the number of passengers using the airport rise to an estimated 132 million - an increase of 60%.But lawyers representing Mr Grayling said the claimants' case was"premature", as they would have the opportunity to make representations at a later stage in the planning process.

"There was a tendency for the substance of the parties' positions to take more of a centre stage than perhaps it should have done, in a hearing that was only concerned with the legality, and not the merits, of the Airports National Policy Statement."

Brilliant news! Perhaps now they can finally get on with building the damn thing.

There's a surprise!

My god that plane’s about to crash on those houses. Call the fire brigade

Another smack in the chops for those brainwashed bloody tree huggers

low flying bird

Sad that your forced to but move if you can’t take the noise.

and probably it won't even be needed after the brexit disaster

No matter how many times u protest they do not listen to word u say in one ear out the other

GOOD!

People ignored by politicians again in the once democratic UK? Now there is a surprise. Public opinion & democratic votes no longer count in the Houses of Cronies. Time for a big change, vote out Liberal, Labour, Tory & SNaziP facists in every election. Stop electoral fraud.

The big boys win. Lobby groups and money. Same old story.

*cough* backhanders *cough*

There’s a surprise

Great news ... now can HAL buy my house now in Harmondsworth

Better install a waterwall sound barrier against noise and dust around those runways.

Good. We may have a new much needed new runway by 2040. After brexit in 2030.

Prepare for some bed wetting and wailing then.
