CAPE TOWN - The Court of Arbitration for Sport has ruled that double 800m Olympian Caster Semenya of South Africa has not been successful in her court challenge against IAAF testosterone rules
The IAAF wants the South African and other female athletes with differences of sexual development to take testosterone blockers. Under the new rules, which will apply to women events between 400m to the mile, athletes classed as having DSDs must reduce their blood testosterone level to below five nmol/L for a period of six months before they can compete. They must then maintain it below that level continuously.
Semenya has been waiting since February following her appeal against an IAAF regulation, which said female athletes classed as having DSDs gain an unfair advantage due to their higher testosterone levels. Testosterone is a hormone that increases muscle mass, strength and haemoglobin - which affects endurance.
Not fair! Taking birth control pills can be uncomfortable, making some women bloated& nauseous. And sometimes depressed. It's unfortunate4an athlete 2have to deal w/the added weight gain&enlarged breasts that can accompany such a medication, affecting her performance.
The man has same hard luck!
Does this mean the females can increase the testosterone levels as long as it is below the iaaf threshold? All females must be monitored all the time to show that their testosterone levels does not change unrealistically.

CasterSemenya didn't lose anything, she is a natural winner, anyone who stands against that needs to check themselves thoroughly. This is laced with discrimination and racism, she must not be deterred, the best is still to come!
