A 31-year-old mother had recently escaped from a mental health facility when she allegedly stabbed a primary school teacher with a pair of scissors at a school in Byron Bay on Tuesday, a court has heard.

At present, all schools could do was ban dangerous people from coming onto school property under the Enclosed Lands Act. A new charter outlining respectful behaviour "isn't very strong," said NSW PPA president Phil Seymour."It seems like we are sitting ducks for someone who comes in with a bee in their bonnet," he said.

Ms Sbaraini appeared via video link at charged with unlawful wounding causing grievous bodily harm and entering enclosed land.
