Mohamed Noor trial: jury finds US police officer guilty of Justine Damond's murder

Minneapolis police officer Mohamed Noor has been found guilty of third-degree murder for the shooting death of Australian life coach Justine Ruszczyk Damond, who approached his squad car minutes after calling 911 to report a possible rape behind her home.

Call me cynical but I can't help wondering if the verdict would have been the same had he been a white officer.

this is a local story Seems just, from my ignorance about details and facts from trial But how ironic finally a police officer in the US is held to account for shooting a citizen but it's a PoC cop, and a white lady victim Justice remains a goal, not reality RoseBeckley

maybe all cops should be black?

I would be surprised if a blonde white female police officers was found guilty of shooting an unarmed coloured gentleman who turned out to be Muslim.

White officer would have gone free. Or, slap on wrist with no jail time.

Yeah, well his name was Mohammed, his skin colored and she was white. So not surprising. Now show me a white cop who gets convicted of killing a Black man.

Of course they did. Not sure how anyone is meant to get any satisfaction out of this verdict after all these decades of white officers walking free for killing people of colour. But I guess that's justice hey.
