The TV show, which Gadd wrote and starred in, earned him nods in the performance, producing and writing categories while his co-stars Jessica Gunning, Tom Goodman-Hill and Nava Mau were also nominated.

Richard Gadd has been accused of sacrificing “honesty for profits” at the expense of real life Martha, Fiona Harvey, after his hit Netflix show Baby Reindeer scooped multiple Emmy nominations in the US last night.

Harvey is suing for defamation, claiming that the show falsely suggested that she was a convicted stalker. Netflix has said it stands by “Gadd’s right to tell his story.” Baby Reindeer was also nominated for Outstanding Casting, Picture Editing, Music Supervision and Directing categories and Limited or Anthology Series.

But Harvey appears to have no convictions and has described herself as a “victim”. She says her life has been made “utter hell” as a result of Gadd’s tale. Join the Daily Record's WhatsApp community here and get the latest news sent straight to your messages.
