Tasmanian Supreme Court judge Gregory Geason is appearing at the second day of a hearing in the Hobart Magistrates Court after pleading not guilty to two charges, including assault.
Justice Gregory Geason is appearing at a hearing in the Hobart Magistrates Court, after pleading not guilty to a charge each of assault and emotional abuse or intimidation. Victorian crown prosecutor Neill Hutton questioned her about the night when she was allegedly assaulted by Mr Geason.The woman, whose identity has been suppressed by the court, told the court that Mr Geason went into a jealous rage when she received a text message and photograph on her phone, then grabbed it and read her text messages and her deleted text messages.
The day after the alleged assault, the woman cancelled a loan agreement which she alleged she had been pressured into by Mr Geason, and then left Tasmania several days later.The woman told the court that she sought independent financial advice about entering into a loan agreement with Mr Geason, which she alleged enraged him again.The woman said Mr Geason only provided redacted copies of his credit card statements at first, before she then became aware of his significant debts.
