Security plans are kept highly covert, in an effort to maintain safety. CBS Austin reached out to the Austin Police Department, the LBJ Library, and the Department of Public Safety for comment about their safety protocols, including whether or not the security levels were being increased after the attempted assassination of Trump.
DPS did not return CBS Austin's request for comment. A spokesperson for the LBJ Library said they would release safety protocols with event attendees at a later date.
