Kogi Gov’ship: AA candidate, Braimoh, rejects Appeal Court Judgment, heads to Supreme Court

Following the Appeal Court judgement in Abuja on Thursday that reaffirmed the Tribune judgment validating the victory of Ahmed Usman Ododo as the governor of Kogi State, the Action Alliance governorship candidate in the November 2023 election, Otunba Olayinka Braimoh has expressed his intention to go ahead to the Supreme Court to seek justice.

Braimoh on Friday in a statement expressed disbelieve the the Appeal court judgment, stressed that he believes that approaching the Apex court is the only way to ensure victory for democracy and the people of Kogi State.

He stated that the evidence provided by his team clearly shows that the election process was manipulated by the ruling party and INEC, and he had hoped that the Appeal Court would have upturned tribunal’s earlier verdict. “Our determination to seek justice at the Supreme Court also highlights our belief in the rule of law and the importance of upholding the integrity of the electoral process. Despite facing setbacks at the lower courts, we remain resolute in our belief that the truth will prevail and that the people of Kogi State will ultimately have their voices heard”, Braimoh stated.
