People are getting letters in the mail from a law firm saying that one of its clients has died and it's looking for the heir to the fortune.The letter says you may be the heir, but it's a scam.A viewer named Mary Theresa shared one of these letters with me, with the hope that no one falls for it.The letter appears to be from a law firm in Toronto informing her that a client named her a beneficiary in his will worth $3 million.

The letter also claims the client's name can't be disclosed for security reasons. That's a sign of a scam.Mary Theresa did call the number in the letter. She said she could tell right away the woman who answered wasn't a lawyer, so she hung up.One of the things you should not do is respond to a letter like this.It might be tempting to reply, just to see if you really can get some of the money. However, that's where the scam kicks in.
