The defence has rested its case in the trial of former US police officer Mohamed Noor over the fatal shooting of Sydney life coach Justine Damond.

Noor gave his testimony to the court on Friday, with his lawyers arguing he was justified in using deadly force to protect himself when Ms Damond was shot in July, 2017.

The Australian woman had called 911 to report a possible sexual assault behind her home before police arrived and fatally shot her. Prosecutors have argued Mr Noor had no basis to fire his weapon at an unarmed woman.
