Comment: The dual international's code of conduct hearing next weekend could be just the beginning of a legal showdown with the governing body | sportslawyer7

Let me preface everything which will follow by stating, without qualification, that I consider Israel Folau’s method of Instagram proselytising, concerning the impending fate of me and pretty much every one of you dear readers, to be beyond offensive, let alone dangerous.

I am not even certain that tribunal has the actual jurisdiction and power to terminate Folau’s RA contract. Further, what if anything is to be made of the statement at clause 6.3.3 of RA’s Member Protection Policy, that the governing body “prohibit[s] all forms of harassment and discrimination based on the personal characteristics listed” in clause 11 of the policy. Those characteristics which include “religion, religious beliefs or activities”?

And if he is so discriminated against, could he make a complaint himself, under RA’s member protection rules?

sportslawyer7 What is 'noxious & vile' about what Israel Folau said on Instagram 'Those that are living in Sin will end up in Hell unless you repent. Jesus Christ loves you and is giving you time to turn away from your sin and come to him?' Just Biblical references vs confected outrage.

sportslawyer7 What is so 'noxious & vile' about what Israel Folau said on Instagram 'Those that are living in Sin will end up in Hell unless you repent. Jesus Christ loves you and is giving you time to turn away from your sin and come to him.' Don't writers and journalists add references?

sportslawyer7 So important that RugbyAU is inclusive of adulterers and drunkards. Would public support of Pauline Hanson (a non-inclusive figure) be a sackable offense? Go IzzyFolau

sportslawyer7 Where is freedom of speech and freedom of religion Whilst I don't personally subscribe to the views expressed by Falaou, in my view he has, or should have, freedom of speech, freedom of religion and freedom of thought

sportslawyer7 Gosh let’s hope so. Lawyers need fresh ambulances to chase don’t they.

sportslawyer7 he should be charged with stupidity

sportslawyer7 Tread carefully sporting codes :-)
