The 28-year-old has been remanded in custody

A Salford man has been named as a suspect following an investigation into alleged modern day slavery and drugs offences. Kevin Ozemelam, of Bury Street, was arrested by Cheshire Police following the probe.

The 28-year-old has since been charged with a number of offences and is set to face court in August. Ozemelam was charged with assault by beating and requiring a person to perform forced or compulsory labour. He has also been charged with being concerned in the supply of class A drugs and being concerned in the supply of class B drugs . Cheshire Police says the charges follow an investigation into the sale of illegal drugs in the Chester area.Ozemelam was remanded in custody after being charged. He made his first appearance at Chester Magistrates Court yesterday .

Ozemelam is next due to appear at Chester Crown Court on Thursday, August 1. He has been remanded in custody ahead of that appearance.
