Tigran Gambaryan

The Nigeria Correctional Service, NCoS, has assured that the Binance executive in its custody, Tigran Gambaryan, is fine and not sick. This was contrary to claims by Gambaryan's family at the Abuja Federal High Court on June 28 that his health was deteriorating and that he should be granted bail.

Gambaryan is being detained in Kuje prison, Abuja. However, NCoS spokesperson, Umar Abubakar, said Gambaryan “is not under any serious health condition” contrary to what his family told the court.

Abubakar disclosed this on Thursday at a briefing organized by the Office of the National Security Adviser, ONSA, in Abuja. According to Abubakar: “In 2020, during COVID-19, we recorded 0% of COVID patients in our custodial centers. So if any inmate falls ill within our custodial center, we have qualified medical personnel to attend to them.
