A man attacked two Bexar County deputy constables after they tried to serve a court order on Wednesday afternoon on the Northwest Side, according to the chief deputy.

The incident happened just after 2:30 p.m. at an apartment complex in the 4400 block of Gardendale Road, not far from Wurzbach and Fredericksburg Roads near the Medical Center.Chief Deputy Don Tijerina said a team with the Bexar County Constable’s Office Precinct 2 had a court order to take back possessions.They tried to negotiate, but the man refused to leave the apartment, Tijerina said.

As they entered, the man confronted the deputy constables with a sharp weapon, and there was a physical confrontation. The suspect did not have a gun.One deputy constable was cut in the head, and the other had a laceration. They were taken to the hospital, and their conditions are unknown. The suspect is in custody and was not identified. He had some injuries in the “hand-to-hand combat” but was not taken to the hospital.KSAT has a crew at the scene.
