What do we mean by barely? Four in 10 American adults do not have cash savings to meet a $400 emergency expense, and unfortunately, $400 emergency expenses are pretty common. So, for far too many Americans, a broken bone, a minor car repair or even school supplies could mean that all the bills can't be paid at the end of the month.

How with all the “FREE”stuff you promised ?

How about eliminating income tax. That would do it.

Most Americans CAN save for retirement. They just don’t!!!

It’s called PERSONAL RESPONSIBILITY a phrase forgotten about in the Democratic Party

Most Americans could save for retirement, but, instead, choose to spend their money on: - cigarettes - dining out - illegal drugs - cable/satellite TV - $1000 phones - $200 athletic shoes - lottery tickets - streaming music - $5 cups of coffee ...

Maybe because they dont learn

Lol

I disagree. Most Americans can. Maybe instead of having the latest iPhone, or the cable TV with every channel, or rims on the car, they should put some money in savings. It’s not necessarily an income problem, it’s a spending problem.

Then quit taking our Fucking Money as TAXES!👌👍🖕Democrats.🤣😂🤣😎🇺🇸☝️

By raising taxes

How about cutting all the aid we give to the millions of illegal aliens. Then the aid we give countries that send them. And give the billions and billions tax dollars saved back to legal u.s. citizens. They deserve it. Nobody else.

Quit buying $2,000 phones is a really good start. LiveBelowYourMeans

Well most Americans live beyond their means.

Yeah let us opt out of social security.

Retirement age must keep pace with ever increasing life expectancy.

Yep I have nothing and it not for lack of trying. I work 50 , weeks.

LOWER TAXES!!! Let us keep more of what WE make!!!

Those that work and pay taxes are setting money aside for retirement through their withholding when they work for at least 20 years. Spouse receive 1/2 what husbands would receive even without working. All others are free loaders.

This problem is solely because they simply just don’t save for retirement. They can start putting money away early, and then it will build. Nothing to do with “can’t.”

Just be a government worker in Oregon and you get a lavish pension all at the taxpayers expense. Same true for Congress.

By raising taxes. Genius.

BS

But Obama took those savings away from Americans, CNN go back and refresh your lost memory

When I become a senior citizen I’m going to sell all the Beanie Babies I’ve collected. That’ll make me retire in luxury.

Most Americans CAN, they simply choose not to.

Buy Bitcoin, problem solved

Socialists and savings. 😂 Yeah um no. Moochers

Democrats don't want to fix that, they're too busy fighting for illegals.

Yeah, put your future in the hands of the government. That should yield a return.

If it doesn't involve raising the cap on Social Security contributions I don't care
