One of two youths charged in relation to the stabbing death of Sitansisk elder Mark Brooks II has been placed on house arrest as he awaits his next court date in August.

Anna Mandin reports on what happened, how the community is grieving and what police know so far.

Both were 17 at the time of the charges and their identities are protected under the Youth Criminal Justice Act.The individual charged with assault has been placed under house arrest as part of his release conditions ordered by the judge. The youth is scheduled to be back in court on Aug. 22.
