A Makurdi Chief Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday remanded five cattle rearers at the Correctional Centre, Makurdi for alleged criminal conspiracy, kidnapping, rape, and armed robbery.

Saleh Hassan, Yakubu Kanje, Inusa Idris, Yusuf Ibrahim and Yahuza Idris, who reside.at Keana and Awe local government areas of Nasarawa State, were also docked for alleged acts of terrorism and culpable homicide.

Earlier, the Prosecutor, Mr Godwin Ato told the court that the case was transferred to the State CID, Makurdi from the Divisional Police Headquarters, Otukpo on June 17. Ato claimed that the suspects robbed the passengers of their phones, money and other valuables at gun point. He alleged that they raped one female passenger and collected ransom of N18 million from the passengers before releasing them.
