Defining the News

The Department of Justice secured the conviction of 19 officers and employees of the Rural Bank of Subangdaku, Inc. after they were found guilty for alleged falsification of public and commercial documents.

The Mandaue court sentenced all accused to suffer an indeterminate penalty of one year and one day of imprisonment as minimum, to three years, six months and twenty-one days as maximum. They were also asked to pay P3,000 fine with subsidiary detention in case of insolvency. The court ruled that the prosecution sufficiently established the participation and probable guilt of all the accused, falsifying several public and commercial documents.
