The San Antonio Police Department is warning residents of a local phone scam where callers impersonate law enforcement and ask for money to resolve fake charges. The agency alerted the public of the scam affecting city residents in a recent Facebook post. To pull off the scheme, the swindlers use spoofed phone numbers beginning with the 210 area code, followed by 207-, the standard prefix for San Antonio city government numbers, according to the post.
