Moazam Ali was sentenced to 12 weeks in prison

Moazam Ali was subject to a community behaviour order but was hauled back to court after breaching the order. Burnley and Padiham Police said the beach happened when he twice entered stores in Burnley and stole items.

Ali, of Leyland Road, Burnley, was sentenced to 12 weeks in prison by magistrates on Friday . Officers shared a mugshot picture of the defendant on social media following the hearing as a warning to other would-be offenders.In a statement, the force said: "A prolific shoplifter has been sentenced to 12 weeks imprisonment for theft and breaching his community behaviour order .

"Burnley Neighbourhood Team will continue to target our prolific offenders causing issues on the town for the business owners and hard working folk who visit the shops."
