Prison Inmate Dies Two Days After Giving Birth To Twins | Sahara Reporters

An inmate of the Nigerian Prisons Service, Cross River State Command, has died after being delivered of a twin girl and boy.

Atom however dismissed claims that she gave birth inside the prison, insisting she delivered at the General Hospital in Calabar, where she had been receiving regular ante-natal care. “The report is not true as the said inmate was remanded by a High Court in Calabar on 5th November, 2018 with six month-old pregnancy for the offence of child stealing. While in prison, she had been under regular ante-natal care at the General Hospital, Calabar.

“With the intervention of the Cross River state Commissioner of Health, and the efforts of the Prison authority to provide the funds needed for the caesarean section, the said inmate was delivered of twins: a boy and a girl.

AsoRock This story is not adding up. The late woman came in to prison on 5 Nov 2018, with 6 months pregnancy. She delivered the twins 17 April 2019. Simple mathematics - that is 11 months. I question her passing on. Cross River State Police Commissioner over to you.
