The program helps to rebuild mutual respect and trust between youth and law enforcement) - The Mobile Police Department hosted a program Friday for the boys and girls at the Strickland Youth Center. It’s called “Bridging The Gap”.

“It’s important to me because we don’t know what we don’t know. And unless they’re willing to share with us the issues that they’re facing day in and day out, we can’t make meaningful change to what that looks like,” Lawrence Battiste said. The nearly 30 kids in attendance were engaged and answered questions. And for one officer, that makes all of this worth it.
