A woman has been extradited from Bulgaria to Northern Ireland to stand trial for 13 child cruelty offences.

Police say a bench warrant for her arrest was issued on April 19, 2024. The woman was initially arrested in Bulgaria on June 4, 2024, and yesterday completed the extradition proceedings with her successful return to Northern Ireland.She is due to appear before Lisburn Magistrates Court today, Thursday, June 27.

"In this case, we worked closely with the National Crime Agency and authorities in Bulgaria to locate, arrest and extradite the suspect.
