Simelane, her sister Nondumiso, and Thobeka Tipcee Ndaba allegedly assaulted a woman in an Umbilo guest house in March. This was a day after Babes Wodumo laid an assault charge against her manager and fellow-musician – Mandla Mapinthsa Maphumulo. Bongekile and Nondumiso Simelane were fined R1000 at the beginning of the month for failing to appear in court.
