She made the remarks in an interview on Wednesday after being asked about concerns pill testing would encourage people to go out and take illegal drugs. "It's also the health conversation you can have at the same time. No judgment, just the facts about this is what's in it, this is what it can do to you, do you really want to take it?" she said.
"Years ago, I probably would have said, no, I'm not that keen on it. But, you know, becoming a parent changes a lot of things in your life," she said. "When you consider... the impact it's having not just on people individually but on our health system... we took some time to look at again, evidence, fact, get data, talk to experts, but also, importantly too, talk to families as well, which is how we've arrived at the decision we announced yesterday."
"On-site drug testing has significant limitations. It can't measure drug potency, predict individual reactions, or account for dangerous interactions with alcohol and other substances.
