The Cuyahoga County Sheriff’s Department is working with area law enforcement after a suspect was wrongfully released from jail.

CLEVELAND, Ohio - The Cuyahoga County Sheriff’s Department is working with area law enforcement after a suspect accused of murder was wrongly released from jail.

Police are searching for Amarion Sanders, a 22-year-old man who was in jail awaiting trial for an aggravated murder charge.DEFENDANT WAS INADVERTENTLY RELEASED FROM THE COUNTY JAIL YESTERDAY. A TYPOGRAPHICAL ERROR WAS MADE BY THIS COURT DISMISSING SAID CASE NUMBER. CASE 685909 WAS THE CASE THAT WAS TO BE DISMISSED. COURT IS REQUESTING CPD AND THE COUNTY SHERIFF’S DEPARTMENT TO IMMEDIATELY APPREHEND DEFENDANT AND RETURN HIM TO THE COUNTY JAIL. CAPIAS TO ISSUE FOR DEFENDANT, AMARION SANDERS.

Police reports show officers responded to the 12400 block of Union Avenue in Cleveland for calls about a man that had been shot. officers say they arrived to find a man with a gunshot wound to the head. Police say the victim, identified as Derek Driskill, got into an argument with Sanders and two others outside of a store after Driskill’s car was struck by a blue Ford Focus in which Sanders was a passenger. Sanders was determined not to have been driving during the incident.

The police report states during the argument, Sanders saides a firearm and shot Driskill in the side of the head.
