Democratic presidential candidate Sen. Elizabeth Warren visits Keene State College in April. By Eugene Scott Eugene Scott Reporter covering identity politics for The Fix Email Bio Follow April 23 at 11:46 AM Criminal justice reform has drawn great interest from both sides of the political aisle for years. But few presidential candidates have mentioned what they believe to be the core issue in need of reforming.
Trump tweeted in response: “Be nice if Spike Lee could read his notes, or better yet not have to use notes at all, when doing his racist hit on your President, who has done more for African Americans than almost any other Pres!” At a CNN town hall, a student planning to go into law enforcement asked Warren if she could assure him that she would back legislation that would keep law enforcement safe. The question, as the student noted, was a response to Warren’s ongoing criticism of law enforcement and her call for criminal justice reform.
Warren talks about the police and racial issues-says no one is safe with a broken justice system. Talks about importance of getting rid of for-profit private prisons, restoring felon's rights to vote & sensible gun restrictions as components. #CNNTownHall pic.twitter.com/MKLasckSyy
Hm I also think you shouldn’t attempt to run a political campaign based on a laughably distant (if even existent) relation to a Native American tribe. Which is using a race for political gain. SenWarren
If Dem candidates had to pay a $1 for everytime they said racist or racism we would have the defecit cleared. What not liberals here from these loons: blah blah blah racist yawn
I saw this on CNN last night. It was blatant pandering.
Just a looser
.....Like their Soviet forefathers, Critical Theorists and Critical Race Theorists split society into two groups: the oppressors and the victims. They argued that history and reality were shaped by the oppressors who controlled traditional institutions.
Critical Race Theory is merely the adaptation of Critical Theory, focused solely on race. Using the pretext of historical grievance, proponents of Critical Race Theory advocate affording special rights and protections to the marginalized; curtailing the rights of the majority....
You could’ve taken out “for Warren”
That's the point.
Yep, also justice only happens when that is the goal. Too often, I believe, after an indictment- conviction, not justice, is the goal. In this society it is so often 'the win' is the only goal. Innocent until indictment is actually the 'new rule', and that must change.
Deciding to skip 'My Life as a Squaw at Harvard' Warren and racism quickly segues to Trump. Analysis swapping is immoral.
Blacks could avoid prison by simply not breaking the law. I know it’s difficult for them, but they can do it.
She should have been part of the reform the President passed with the help of black leadership, gee, where has she been.
Still on the racism agenda. It's just like being accused of something by the holier than thou individual when it was that person all along that was guilty. Democrats & their racism is front & center for the American people to see. Own it progressive left.
She told you by smoke signal?
