STREETSBORO, Ohio - A family of seven living in Streetsboro is not on board with the new smart water meter program the city is requiring of all homeowners and on Monday they made some progress in court.
Judge Doherty of the Portage County Common Pleas Court ordered a temporary restraining order against the smart water meter company which will temporary hold the installation of the meters.“We’re just asking for an opt-out,” said Laura Lewis. “The state of Ohio requires cities to offer that for electric smart meters and we’re just asking for the same type of thing for the water meter.
