Major General Phillip Stewart has been accused of sexually assaulting a female officer.

A U.S. Air Force general is facing a jury court-martial for the first time ever, answering to charges that include sexual assault.Major General Phillip Stewart is accused of attacking a female officer at or near Altus AFB in southwestern Oklahoma last April – charges he pleaded not guilty to on March 21. It is the first time a general's trial is being heard by a jury and the second time a general has faced a court-martial.The only other Air Force general to ever be court-martialed, Maj. Gen.

The jury was finalized on Saturday night, with counsel and defense teams having a restricted group of people to choose from during 'voir dire' – when candidates are scrutinized for bias.Before jury selection was completed, four people were struck after answering a questionnaire and 18 were struck after they traveled to Fort Sam Houston for individual questioning, according to Air & Space Forces Magazine.
