An Australian prime minister would be forced from office if they commited just a fraction of the questionable acts US President Donald Trump was accused of in the Mueller report, according to former prime minister Kevin Rudd.Rudd, who currently lives in New York, said special counsel Robert Mueller had presented "quite spectacular" evidence of Trump attempting to obstruct justice in his 448-page report.
As President of the Asia Society Policy Institute, Rudd has praised some of Trump's efforts to force China to bring its trade practices into line with international norms., instructed his subordinates to lie and tried to cover-up the real reason for an infamous 2016 meeting between senior members of his campaign and a Russian lawyer., few Republicans in Congress have spoken out against Trump since the report's release, highlighting the polarised nature of modern American politics.
"While our views range from proceeding to investigate the findings of the Mueller report or proceeding directly to impeachment, we all firmly agree that we should proceed down a path of finding the truth,” Pelosi said in a letter to congressional Democrats."Whether currently indictable or not, it is clear that the president has, at a minimum, engaged in highly unethical and unscrupulous behavior which does not bring honour to the office he holds.
Before the report was released, Pelosi said that she opposed impeachment because it would be too divisive and that Trump was "not worth it".
