The judge said despite being served with the court order, the state government went ahead to appoint Mr Sanusi as the 16 Emir of Kano on 24 May. But Mamman Yusufari, a senior Advocate of Nigeria , insisted that the ruling of the court on Thursday invalidated Mr Sanusi’s reinstatement. “The judge described the governor’s action as disrespectful and cannot be tolerated in a country with law and order because nobody is above the law. In the eyes of the law, the appointment of Mr Sanusi didn’t exist because it was conducted in disregard to the law of the land.
