The illicit drugs, seized from across the state within the past year, include Cannabis sativa or Indian hemp; Methamphetamine, which goes by the street name Ice; Cocaine; Tramadol; Exol-5; Diazepam tablets; Codeine-based syrup; Rohypnol tablet; and Pentazocine injection.
He said although the elements behind drug dealings have reduced in number in the state, the scale of drug dealings has increased. The NDLEA Commander gave the example of a particular case in which operatives of the agency and sister agencies raided a house, found and seized 1,898 blocks of Cannabis sativa weighing 1,862 kilograms, equalling 1.9 tons. He disclosed that in all within the year in view, his command arrested 454 suspected hard drug dealers comprising 447 males and seven females.
